Interview : Erick Thiry, Managing Director

 

  • My budget is large.  Does MindStream have strong enough structures to manage this budget efficiently?

Erick : MindStream has over ten years of experience in Congress and Conference organising; we therefore have the skills as well as the banking infrastructure needed to manage big projects.  For security reasons, MindStream does not make its customers advances.  Each customer pays for their financial commitments to MindStream, who, in turn, pays the service providers and the partners.  This significantly reduces any risk of financial problem.  Additionally MindStream has a liability insurance policy, which guarantees that customers are reimbursed in case we should go bankrupt.

 

  • My budget is small and I would like to make the most of it.  How can you help?

Erick : MindStream's turnover is around 4.5 million Euros, which makes it possible for us to negotiate good terms and get the best prices, both in Belgium and abroad.  This, in turn, means that we can offer our customers the best price/quality ratio.

 

  • I would like to hold a « prestige » event. Does MindStream have the right skills for this?

Erick : A large part of our events are of a « Prestige » nature, because of the organisations and the participants.  MindStream is used to dealing with V.I.P.s and meeting their expectations accordingly, however demanding their requests may be.

 

  • There are many event organisers.  In what ways does MindStream make the difference?

Erick : Well, I can think of four obvious reasons:

  1. Professionalism: MindStream is a serious professional company with an outstanding reputation due to its ten years of business experience.
  2. Security: MindStream has a travel agent licence, a liability insurance policy and a third party insolvency insurance policy.  Our company has developed procedures and rules of operation that guarantee absolute security in the way events are managed.
  3. Services: MindStream offers a complete range of services to ensure that all goes well throughout the entire event.  From communication to financial management, through recordings, on site coordination, negotiations, counselling, Web solutions.  In short, anything that can cause trouble or waste time is taken care of by our people.
  4. Last but not least: our main objective, customer satisfaction. MindStream becomes a natural part of the structure and adopts the philosophy of its customers. « It's not that we are WITH them but we ARE them ». We put our know-how and our experience at the customer's service with enthusiasm and dynamism.

 

  • How can I be best prepared if anything unexpected crops up?

Erick : Off the cuff I would say: «use MindStream ».  One of the major added values that an agency has to offer – and which is a MindStream speciality – is anticipation: managing unforeseen events is above all a question of experience.  Nothing can be as useful as having been there before. One can then learn from each last minute change, each mistake, and use them to set up “counter-unforeseen events procedures”, which is what MindStream has been doing for 10 years.
